Customer Databases

Customer DatabasesA fundamental requirement for any business or company that wants to be competitive is to have a database of customers.

A database is basically a table that lists all customers who own a business or company, and some data of these, such as address, phone number, email address, birthday, etc.

Having a customer database allows us to maintain communication with the client (by knowing the means by which we can contact you), lets us know what our key customers (and thus, for example, to provide preferential treatment) and allows us to meet each client’s specific (and thus, for example, to offer a personalized).

Using database
Once we have our database, we move to take advantage of it.

As mentioned above, the database allows us to maintain communication with our customers (and all the advantages that this represents), to know the means by which we can make contact with them.

Another use of a database is that we can know which are our main customers, and thus, for example, can provide an excellent service and preferential treatment (that is, if these customers represent a large percentage of our sales).

And another utility is that we can meet each customer’s specific, and thus, for example, able to offer a personalized service or, for example, if a customer we always buy a certain product, we may choose to offer complementary products or promotions that might be of interest.

Update database
Finally, we constantly update our database.

Stop updating our database could be costly, for example, if we do not update the address of a client may send advertising material costly (eg, catalogs printed with high quality) to a direction in which the client no longer lives which we were going.

To update data we simply use the same methods we use the time to get customer data, but may also be necessary to track and record the purchase of this behavior.
