An alternative to selling insurance door to door (or “face to face”) is to sell insurance by mail. Out of any method of selling insurance, this one is the hardest to start, but if you are successful, it is also the easiest to maintain.
When selling insurance by mail, the mail piece does the selling for you, obviating your need to spend a lot of time talking to clients. In some cases, you can even set up a website so that the client can buy directly from your website and never have to talk to an agent.
1. Get licensed in any state in which you plan to sell insurance by mail. You can find the requirements for licensing at the Department of Insurance for the states you are considering.
